Serving The Community
The residents of the Second Ward elected Fred as their Alderperson in 2021. He won with over 65% of the vote. Prior to joining the Park Ridge City Council, Fred represented the residents of the Park Ridge-Niles Consolidated School District #64 as a school board member from 2017-2021. Fred has an affinity for volunteerism, and his love of Park Ridge goes beyond politics and elected office. He has coached girls’ softball and was an active member of the Wilderness Princesses when his girls were younger. Currently, Fred is a Board Member for the not-for-profit Taste of Park Ridge Committee, which hosts a food and music festival in Uptown Park Ridge every July. Fred was also a founding member of the Park Ridge Holiday Lights Fund, a not-for-profit, which assumed responsibility for decorating Uptown and South Park with holiday lights through community fundraising during a time when the City was unable to do so. In recognition of his volunteerism and work for Park Ridge, the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce presented him with a Park Ridge Community Star Award in 2015 for his work on the Park Ridge Holiday Lights Fund and another in 2021 for his work on the Taste of Park Ridge. On City Council, Fred serves as Chair of the Public Safety Committee, Intergovernmental Liaison, and Council Liaison to the Park Ridge Youth Commission.
